Juggling is about much more than learning cool tricks.
When you follow the journey in The Zen of Juggling, you discover that juggling can help you grow as a person. It builds focus, calm, patience, and awareness. It helps you find balance, not just with objects in the air, but in your own mind and body.
In this book, Dave Finnigan tells the story of a juggler searching for technical perfection who ends up learning something deeper. His path leads him to a mysterious Chinese master named Huang, who lives in an old Buddhist monastery in the mountains of Taiwan. Through juggling, the juggler learns Zen in a playful, practical way by paying attention, letting go of tension, and staying present.
This book is for anyone who wants to handle life’s challenges with the same calm and rhythm as juggling a few coloured balls. It shows how juggling can become a daily practice that brings clarity, balance, and joy - turning stress into focus and effort into play.

About the author:
Dave Finnigan began juggling in 1975 and went on to become one of the most influential educators in the juggling world. A former doctoral student and international family-planning specialist, he left academia to pursue juggling full time. He authored several classic books that helped shape modern juggling, including The Zen of Juggling, The Joy of Juggling, and The Complete Juggler. In addition, he created award-winning instructional videos and songs that influenced a generation of jugglers worldwide, founded the Jugglebug company, and taught more than one million children, teachers, and parents through school programs in over 40 U.S. states and a dozen countries. He was the first recipient of the International Jugglers Association’s Excellence in Education Award. Now an active octogenarian, Dave continues to combine education and positive impact through his Green Actioneers project. The latest reprint of The Zen of Juggling is published by ND Juggling (Niels Duinker).
